Author/Character Studies
Mrs. Johnson's English I Honors class completed a study on Edgar Alan Poe and finished the unit with a research paper.
Mrs. Deon Jones's English IV class came to the media center to complete a character study on the characters from Macbeth.
Shakespeare
Mrs. Johnson's class enjoyed acting out several scenes from Romeo and Juliet and a scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Her class ended the unit with an argumentative essay.
7th GT
After reading and performing "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street," Mrs. Johnson's 7th grade GT class made props and scenes from the TV script. The students enjoyed being creative! They made characters, houses, and cars out of straws, and the Maple Street neighborhood out of Legos.

participated in Speed Dating with Books, where they "met" books and spent time with them for a couple minutes before moving on to the next book.
All of these activities led to increased book checkouts!
